Hi. I’m Linda O’Keefe (or Linda ANN O’Keefe, if I’m in trouble with my mom). Forty-five years ago today, I disappeared from Newport Beach. I was murdered and my body was found in the Back Bay. My killer was never found. Today, I’m going to tell you my story.” #LindasStory

11-Year-Old Linda O’Keefe was the middle child with two sisters who lived in Corona Del Mar, California. Her father was a machinist. Her mother was an artist and a working seamstress.

Linda attended Lincoln Intermediate School. She was an avid Girl Scout and nature lover. Linda’s older sister remembered Linda as a loving soul who saw the good in people.

They were a close-knit family. Linda was very close to her father. They often went on family trips to the beach, museums, and family camping trips.

Linda usually went to school by her bicycle. On July 6, 1973, she got a ride to school. After school, Linda called her mother to pick her up.
